Current Pax Autocratica system requirements from Steam, plus what the August performance patches changed without lowering the official PC minimums.

The official Pax Autocratica system requirements were unchanged when rechecked on August 31, 2026. Recent performance patches improved Low and Medium settings, animation memory use, Foundation rendering, and base performance, but the developer did not lower the published hardware requirements.

The 1440p line appears inside Steam's minimum block and is easy to miss. It is not a separate recommended tier.

What the August patches changed
AG-25 (Build 24928845) reduced shadow cost on Medium and Low settings, optimized memory used by soldier animations, improved Foundation rendering, and reported a substantial base-performance improvement. It also included broader runtime and stability work.
The August 28 maintenance build (Build 24995054) fixed cases where graphics-quality settings were not being applied correctly and further improved performance on Low.
These changes may help machines close to the minimum, but they are not evidence that a system below 16 GB RAM or below the listed GPU floor is now supported. Until Steam changes the table, use the table above for purchase decisions.
Before buying
- Compare the exact GPU and its VRAM, not only the model family.
- Laptop GPUs with similar names can perform differently from desktop cards.
- Keep more than 40 GB free for updates and temporary installation files, even though Steam lists 40 GB as the game requirement.
- If flashing lights are a health concern, read the photosensitivity warning on the store page before playing.
