Pax Autocratica Prisoners Guide

Pax Autocratica troop training prisoners: Capture Rounds, Prison cells, then conversion. Captives are not a one-click recruit button.

Pax Autocratica Prisoners Guide

Pax autocratica troop training prisoners is a two-building problem: Capture Rounds on the battlefield, then a Prison at home. Capturing an enemy is only the first half. They do not become soldiers until they ride home, enter a cell, and lose enough resistance. Steam’s store copy lists fear, indoctrination, execution, and conversion. It does not publish keys, timers, or a percentage table.

The opening still starts with 4 Titanite, Command Center, and Barracks. Prison is the research you add when captives exist, not a day-one factory. A Soldier Training Center is later still: player Elysia notes push it after the sector, and a beginner video said the first sector can wait. Training surplus people into a core squad is not the same system as converting a captive.

How pax autocratica troop training prisoners starts in a fight

Carry Capture Rounds. Find them as loot in Elysia or craft them at the weapons resource building. A short capture video said basic rounds are cheap and weak on elites, and claimed four round types. Steam’s AG-14 note later added three advanced rounds aimed at elites and bosses. Whisper’s write-up did not publish a material count. One beginner video crafted with bitter roots and tender logs and stocked toward 99. Another suggested keeping about 50 on hand. Treat those as player stocks, not an official ammo table.

Lower the target with a normal gun. Press F to attempt capture. Hold F to switch round types. Watch the on-screen Capture Rate. Players have seen 100%. There is no trustworthy “always shoot at 20% HP” rule. One beginner video waited until blood pressure was about three-quarters down. That is a habit. Believe the rate on screen.

Stop if keeping the target alive is wiping the squad. Teammates can steal the kill. Older notes said marked capture targets can make your own soldiers hold fire. Steam later added a short grace window after a failed capture where the target cannot be finished by gunfire; leader melee can still bypass that. Demo-era notes mentioned a pity system after several failures. Percentages still are not a public official table.

Spend scarce rounds on targets that fill a gap — a sniper, an elite with useful affixes — not on the nearest fodder. Elite and boss affixes can survive conversion. Broader capturing makes sense when kitchens and hauling cannot be staffed. Narrow capturing makes sense when you already have interchangeable labor and lack combat traits. That choice is the same ledger as citizens vs army.

Skip emptying your only cook into a meat-shield core just to keep a capture target alive. Steam allows cores that sacrifice nearby soldiers. The colony still has to run when you return.

Home: ship, inventory, cells

Captives wait on the ship during the expedition. On return:

  • free Prison space → they transfer automatically
  • no space → they sit in inventory (not a failed capture)
  • no Prison → research the blueprint at the Command Center and build it

One player preferred several cheap prisons over an expensive first upgrade. Another saw an upgrade open two usable cells. Treat capacity as “do I have a queue,” not as a universal build order. A short video made the same point: skip a huge first upgrade; place more small prisons you can remove. Failed captures and missing cells are different bugs in the player’s head. Missing cells are a building problem.

Put Prison where you can walk the loop. First-person management means a trophy jail at the far edge of a spider-web plan wastes time. Base layout is about haul distance; this is the same walking tax.

Conversion is slow on purpose

The Prison tracks Willpower and Convictions. Detention plus actions such as Indoctrination and Electroshock wear that down. Early prisons allowed each action once per day. A short capture video suggested indoctrinating for two or three days before mixing in shock. That sequence was not a second official table. Steam’s store copy lists the fantasy; it does not publish timers.

A short capture video says ready recruits can be hired at Victory Square, and unwanted captives can be exiled or executed at a gallows. Exile for soldiers (not only captives) was added after launch. The studio’s own post-launch note says capture and conversion still feel shallow and is a high-priority work item. If your build has a hire control on the plaza, use the in-game label. Hours policy is a different plaza tool: Unified Labor and Paid Time Off. Players have tested 15, 16, and 18 hour days. None is an official optimum. Tired converters are a Victory Square problem, not a reason to skip Prison.

The live pax autocratica troop training prisoners loop is: weaken, capture, ferry, cell, daily pressure, then assign the new worker. It is not “press F and receive a maxed soldier.”

Soldier Training Center feeds surplus soldiers into a core squad after Elysia progression, not during the first Barracks hour. Skip researching it to solve a full brig. A full brig wants cells and daily actions. An empty combat roster wants captures aimed at affixes you can name. An Overworked floor wants hours, not more bodies on the same clock.

What official patches actually added

AG-14 is a current-rules patch, ahead of demo-era capture notes. It added three advanced Capture Rounds for elites and bosses, and the failed-capture grace window. Demo updates also talked about capture pity after several failures. Those demo notes are history. Keybinds in 2025 preview videos may not match August 2026 Early Access. Player beginner videos in August 2026 are the live F-to-capture reports.

Steam still says weak enemies can be captured. It never said every elite is easy. Player reports say elites and bosses are legal targets and harder. Avoid farm pages that invent Roman melee names or black-hole cores as “best capture guns.” Guns this site will name at all sit on weapon list, and that list is still incomplete.

Companion names for the first trip disagree: A20 in one write-up, Mirrorless and Camila in a beginner video. Those names were not checked in the same save. Whoever shoots beside you, they can steal a kill you wanted alive.

If you still have no Barracks, start at the beginner guide. If the floor is tired, fix hours before you fill every cell.

What “training” is not

Search strings glue “troop training” to prisoners because people want a pipeline: grab enemy, mint soldier, send into Elysia. The live pipeline has a gap. Prison makes a person who can take a job. Soldier Training Center spends surplus soldiers to strengthen a core squad after Elysia progression. Mixing those two buildings into one research is how first-sector saves stall.

Steam later said conversion still feels shallow. That is why Frontline listed it as high-priority work and why a v2 conversion system shows up on roadmap copies. Play the current daily actions. Avoid waiting for v2 before you capture anyone; population still comes from expeditions.

Marked-target hold-fire, failed-capture grace, and pity-after-several-misses are all “keep the body alive” rules from different patches. Demo pity is history. AG-14 grace is current. Hold-fire on a marked target is a player-era note. If teammates still steal kills, assume the live prompt beats a 2025 subtitle.

Crafting location is the weapons resource building in player videos, sometimes heard as a weapons resource center. Loot in Elysia is the other source. Stock 50 or 99 only as habits from those recordings. Stock warehouse mode is how you keep a floor of rounds without standing at the bench. That is a base layout habit as much as a capture habit.

Pax autocratica troop training prisoners only pays when the colony can feed, house, and schedule the person you just converted. A pax autocratica troop training prisoners plan that ignores food, beds, and Unified Labor is just a fuller inventory of names who will immediately show Overworked. If you need a one-line pax autocratica troop training prisoners reminder: F when the rate is honest, cells before vanity upgrades, daily Prison actions, training center later.
