Pax Autocratica Core Fragments
Pax Autocratica core fragments reset on return. Core Seeds unlock later pools. Pick for the gun in your hands — no black-hole farm names.

Pax autocratica core fragments are the run-upgrade cards you pick on an expedition. They are not a second backpack, not a permanent skill tree, and not the fake “black-hole core” lists on farm sites. Steam’s store language talks about Weapon Cores and Combination Cores. The UI you click in a fight is Core Fragments. Keep those names in one system.
There are two layers. Fragments collected on this trip reset when you Return to Base, along with Expedition Progress. Core Seeds unlock extra fragment types for later expeditions. A seed unlock does not start dropping in the run you are already on.
How to pick a first gun without inventing an S-tier ladder belongs on best weapons. The short catalog of sourced names belongs on weapon list. This page is the mechanic: what resets, what a duplicate does, and why the card that names a gun you are not holding is a skip.
What a pax autocratica core fragments pick actually is
During an expedition you find storage pods. Each pod offers a few upgrades. Some are general (magazine, reload). Some are tagged to a weapon, for example Weapon · Laser Rifle with Nebula Assault Rifle as the effect. The collection screen tracks the set for this run.
Getting the same core again can enhance it. The first pick therefore matters twice: it helps now, and it is the line later duplicates will feed.
Ask what the current gun is failing at before you compare flavor text:
- not enough sustained fire
- weak group pressure
- poor damage on a tough target
- too much reload downtime
- no identity tying the kit together yet
Rarity is not an answer. 2UpSkill-style “skill tree priority” pages that invent Surveillance Drone Network and Core Fragment Resonance are not sources.
Fragments versus Seeds, versus Steam copy
| Layer | Name in play | When you return |
|---|---|---|
| This expedition | Core Fragments (the cards) | Reset |
| Longer pool | Core Seeds | Unlock stays; new cards do not appear in the current run |
| Store flavor | Weapon Cores / Combination Cores | Not a second inventory |
Official patches have also said: fragment slots cap around 10; there is a codex at base; yellow and red fights can drop better boxes; a full box with no slot left may offer credits, healing, or basic materials. Treat those as patch notes, not as a drop table you can memorize.
Picks players have actually seen
These are snapshot cards from player expeditions and named patches. They are not a ranking.
- Nebula Assault Rifle (Laser Rifle): beam burn about 60%–80% weapon damage while you hold the beam on one target. Skip it if you are not holding that gun.
- Electric Bouncer: within 50 m, 20% chance to bounce, up to 2 jumps in the first write-up. Later duplicates in that save added a split into extra bouncers, +5 m trigger range, +10% bounce-target detection, +10% damage per jump. Crowd tool.
- Missile Core: same 50 m, 50% chance to fire 2 tracking missiles in that write-up. Close-range value.
- Extended Magazine: +100% mag except one-round weapons. Helps a laser that already holds the trigger.
- Power Reload: +5% weapon damage for 10 seconds after reload. Helps if you already reload often.
- Toxic Fog Core: named in an Early Access bug fix, not a crown.
- AG-14 buffed Vortex Shell and Thunderbolt Arrow. Numbers move.
Steam copy: some cores change handling, some link sets, some buff or sacrifice nearby soldiers. Spending a body is a citizens vs army cost.
PixelNitro names (Neutron Singularity, Black-Hole Core, Plasma Capacitor, Kinetic Shredder, Bio-Phage, Gravity Well Launcher) do not match player UI or Steam patches. They stay off this page.
How to choose without a tier list
Early run: start a direction that fits the gun you have.
Mid run: if a line is already paying, prefer a duplicate that strengthens it over a weak new mechanic.
Weapon-specific card: only if you are using that weapon.
Near Return to Base: judge the card by how many fights are left. A perfect set you will reset in ten minutes is not worth a detour. The Elysia page owns the larger “is Enemy Strength too high to keep sightseeing” call.
Before a Decisive Battle or MEC-KONG: take the coherent kit that already clears rooms. Do not assemble a theoretical boss build at the arena door. One successful overlord attempt used the Laser Rifle already carrying that expedition, not a last-minute rarity swap.
A pax autocratica core fragments page that printed “best first pick forever” would fail the next patch. A page that says fragments are this run, seeds are later pools, pick for the gun in your hands, and skip farm singularity kits is doing the job.
