Pax Autocratica Best Weapons

Pax Autocratica best weapons: how to pick the first gun and fragments without a fake tier list. Sourced names only — no Roman swords, no invented cores.

Pax Autocratica Best Weapons

There is no official pax autocratica best weapons table. Steam promises “many weapons” and cores that change handling. That is not an S-tier ladder. This page tells you how to pick the first gun and the fragments that actually show up in player expeditions, without reprinting farm lists that invent Imperial Gladius, Legate’s Halberd, Militia Spear, Scourge Repeater, Voltaic Cleaver, Obliterator Railgun, or black-hole cores.

Those names do not match the Laser Rifle players actually use or the Gratov Quantum Longbow official demo notes named. A competing FAQ that ranks Roman steel is not a source. The catalog of sourced names lives on weapon list. This page is the decision guide: what to equip first, what to chase, and when to stop rerouting the map for a perfect set.

The best weapon starts as the Barracks gift

The first gun is the one the Barracks drops into your inventory after the 4 Titanite Command Center repair. Equip it. Do not leave it sitting in the bag while you rebuild ruins. The opening loop is still Command Center, Barracks, gun, shuttle, Elysia. Companion names A20 versus Mirrorless and Camila were not checked in the same save. See the beginner guide.

That Barracks gift is the current best weapon because it is the only firearm you have. Later “best” answers are always relative to the gun in your hands. Fragments that name a different weapon are a skip if you are not holding that gun.

Worth A Buy said the guns feel good and there are a lot of them, without a catalog. Dakanoth called out laser-rifle-related fragments. None of that is a reason to wait for a leaked spreadsheet before you take the first shuttle.

Sourced names worth chasing

Names we can source, not a ranking:

  • Laser Rifle with the Nebula Assault Rifle fragment: beam burn about 60%–80% weapon damage while you hold the beam, from one player’s expedition UI. Skip the fragment if you are not holding that gun.
  • Gratov Quantum Longbow (demo patch: piercing, damage drops after each pierce).
  • Electric Bouncer: 50 m, 20% chance to bounce, up to 2 jumps in the first write-up; later repeats in that save added more splits, range, and bounce damage. Crowd tool. Snapshot numbers.
  • Missile Core: 50 m, 50% chance to fire 2 tracking missiles in that write-up. Close-range value. Snapshot numbers.
  • Extended Magazine: +100% mag except one-round weapons. Helps a laser that already holds the trigger.
  • Power Reload: +5% weapon damage for 10 seconds after reload. Helps if you already reload often.
  • Toxic Fog Core: named in an EA bug fix, not a “best in slot” crown.
  • AG-14 buffed Vortex Shell and Thunderbolt Arrow cores. Treat numbers as snapshots.

Steam copy: Weapon Cores change handling; Combination Cores link sets; other cores buff or sacrifice nearby soldiers. Spending a soldier is a citizens vs army cost, not a free damage steroid.

AG-14 notes have also named Missile Cores, Electric Orb Cores, Electric-Bouncer, grenade-radius cores, and Toxic Fog. Official names are not a public drop table. A complete pax autocratica best weapons page would need photographed inventory from a live save. Until that exists, ranking every gun is how farm sites invent Roman steel.

Fragment rules that beat a tier list

Pick fragments for the gun in your hands. First pick sets a direction. Later picks that repeat a live line can strengthen it in player practice. Skip rerouting the whole map for a perfect set when you are about to go home — the run layer resets.

Player notes: fragment slots cap around 10. Collected fragments reset on return. Core Seeds unlock extra fragment types for later runs, not the run you are already on. Before a decisive fight, keep the set that already clears rooms. Do not swap to a theoretical best ten minutes from the shuttle.

Two layers of progress stay separate. Core Fragments are this expedition. Core Seeds are the long pool. Steam’s store language (Weapon Cores / Combination Cores) is the flavor. The cards you click in a run are fragments. Do not invent a second backpack. The mechanic page is core fragments. This page stays the decision: what to equip first.

Armor workshops sit late in beginner videos. Second Chance, State-Issued is an armor-shop item in Elysia player notes after a decisive battle, not a gun. Tactical Bureau mobility (double jump, hover, flight) is not a firearm. Hours of 15 / 16 / 18 will not drop a better rifle. Going home with a captive and a live fragment set will.

Capture Rounds are part of the loadout

Capture is ammo plus a key, not a named unique. Craft Capture Rounds at the weapons resource building or loot them. AG-14 added three advanced rounds for elites and bosses. Hold F to change round type. That is not a weapon tier; it is a capture tool. See prisoners.

Demo captions that mapped F to melee stay in 2025. Live player guides use F for Capture Rounds. Prologue-era notes about red fights dropping three core boxes, or a full box offering gold / healing / mats, are labeled as that era. Early Access can retune drops.

Blogcritics mentioned three main weapon slots plus melee plus grenade / flamethrower / black-hole-style skills. Black-hole launchers were not checked against the player core guide. PixelNitro’s Neutron Singularity, Black-Hole Core, Plasma Capacitor, Kinetic Shredder, Bio-Phage, and Gravity Well Launcher stay off this page.

Why no S-tier table

Early Access retunes numbers. AG-14 already moved Vortex Shell and Thunderbolt Arrow. A page that printed “best gun: Laser Rifle forever” would age in a week. A page that says “equip the Barracks gift, read fragments against that gun, skip farm Roman names” is doing the job.

Skip Roman swords, militia spears, legate polearms, scourge repeaters, voltaic cleavers, railgun fantasy names, gravity-well launchers, and PixelNitro’s singularity kit. Skip treating Blogcritics’ black-hole-style skill aside as a sourced gun. Skip demo keybinds as live fire keys.

If a video overlays a Roman sword list, close it. If a video shows a Laser Rifle with a Nebula fragment and the burn percent on the card, that is the kind of evidence the catalog can grow from. Photograph it. Date the build. Then weapon list can stop being short, and this pax autocratica best weapons page can name the next real card.

Until then, the honest “best” answer is one line: the gun you already equipped, plus fragments that mention that gun, plus Capture Rounds so the fight can end in a cell instead of a corpse.
